Mission:
Our mission is to bring about physical, emotional and spiritual well-being in the
lives of individuals through basic coping skills programs that focus on inner
healing in areas of self-esteem, anger management, peer pressure and other
related areas where change may be deemed necessary.
Counseling:
The role of a pastoral counselor is to walk with the client through the process of
change. In addition, we will encourage, instruct, guide, nurture and teach. Many
times individuals remain in a state of stagnation because they are not aware of
other options. Wherefore, the overall concepts, goals and objectives of this
program are educational in nature for the purpose of empowerment.
Services Provided:
Domestic violence, self-esteem, personal and social adjustment, attitude, grief
and loss, anger management, letting go of fear, addictions, mate selection, career
and education, teen girl rap group and teen mothers support groups.
Clients have the right to:
1. Expect to be treated with professionalism, courtesy and respect at all times.
2. Be free from being the object of discrimination while receiving services.
3. Refuse and discontinue services at any given time.
4. File a grievance if in any way treated unjustly.
5. Expect that the right to complete confidentiality of information disclosed
except as required by law:
• Threats of harm serious harm to self or others.
• Suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
• Voluntary release signed by client or guardian.
Refusal of Services
We reserve the right to bar services from any individual under the influence of
alcohol/drugs or exhibiting any type of threatening behavior. We also reserve the
right to refer clients to another professional if we feel that presenting issue
exceeds our professional ability.
Results
Benefits and changes are expected from the counseling, workshops and group
sessions, but specific results cannot be guaranteed. Workshops, groups and/or
counseling sessions may lead to major changes in your life perspectives and
decisions. These changes may affect significant relationships, your job, and
understanding yourself. The extent of these changes cannot be determined.
While services are indeed educational, it should be duly noted that discussions
may at times, include use of spiritual materials. However, client reserves the right
to refuse without question.
