Mary, age 22 and loving mother of one son, (Dezman) was a vibrant
and lively young woman. She was forthright , outgoing and full of
wisdom beyond her years   Mary and Ms. Lewis met in 2004, through
another program, and they formed an instant bond.

Shortly thereafter, Ms. Lewis began to mentor Mary. She (Mary) was
focused, organized and dedicated. She was quite excited about working
with Next Steps, Inc. and contributed several excellent ideas to enhance
the program.

Mary had everything going for her . . . until. . .

One fateful night, April, 11, 2008, during the building of this website;
Mary was the victim of a hit-and-run car crash in which she was
critically injured. She never recovered.

Mary passed away on April 30, 2008.

We love and miss you, Mary, and you will always live within our
hearts!!

In her honor of her memory and dedication to our program for the brief
time she was with us; we would like to implement a fund to assist other
teen mothers and their children.

Mary, May You Rest in Peace!!
