           Toni Spence, Administrative Assistant

Toni, age 23  and mother of two, brings a warm spirit,  
excitement and a willingness to assist in whatever way she  
can.  She is quick witted, humorous, practical and highly  
dedicated to the program.

Toni was the "best friend" of the Late Mary Newton and she  
(like Mary) met Ms. Lewis through another agency.

Toni, (who was also a teen parent), has been involved in toxic   
relationships.  While she reports not to have been battered   
physically, she admits to having been mentally and
emotionally abused through verbal assaults.

Toni reports that "The biggest challenge I experienced being
a teen mom is the ongoing reality of being  a parent." She  
further reported that, "Having a baby was the easy part. If  
teen girls only knew differently."

For several years,Toni has battled with low self-esteem and is  
beginning to overcome the struggle.  Next Steps, Inc. is also   
assisting her in addressing many of these key
components.
